Last week, Christa Markwalder, President of the National Council of Switzerland, was in Albania for a three day states visit. She met the Albanian President Bujar Nishani, Prime Minister Edi Rama and Ilir Meta, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament.

During these meetings, the key topics were the Swiss-Albanian relationships, the Albanian integration in the European Union and the development cooperation. Christa Markwalder stated that “we need political leadership that provides solutions” and , highlighted the good relations between Switzerland and Albania.

Markwalder visited also projects of Swiss development assistance SDC. She met a group of Albanian students, local entrepreneurs and the mayor of Durrës.
