In all sectors Albania's infrastructure shows a backlog. Thanks to the aid of international donors, the expansion of the infrastructure makes fast progress. The government gives its develpment top priority.

In the last years, many new roads were built, while existing roads were widened and repaired. The government tries to solve the supply problem in the energy sectors by building several new power plants. Almost everywhere, water supply and waste treatment are still unsolved issues. And public transport – based on private buses – is not yet in process of being established.
